Chelsea wins the UEFA Super Cup for the second time in club history after a dramatic match versus Villareal that ended in a penalty shootout.

Chelsea has won the Super Cup, with Kepa Arrizabalaga, a substitute goalkeeper, the penalty hero.
Chelsea got off to a great start in Belfast, controlling much of the first half and leading 1-0 at halftime due to another pre-season goal from Hakim Ziyech.
To start the scoring, Ziyech was in the correct location for teammate Kai Havertz’s pull-back in the Villarreal box. The Moroccan’s night, though, was cut short as he was forced off with a shoulder injury just before halftime.

In the second half, the La Liga side regained their composure and equalized with a deserving goal from Gerard Moreno, who finished off a well-worked play with an expert shot in the Chelsea box.

After extra time, it came down to a penalty shootout, with the Blues coming out on top 6-5 to win the Super Cup.
