Newcastle United is poised to offer star winger Anthony Gordon a contract extension to fend off interest from Arsenal.
The 23-year-old, who joined Newcastle in a high-profile move during the summer of 2023, has become one of the best wingers in the league after a slow start.
Last season, Gordon’s impressive performances—recording double figures in both goals and assists—earned him an England call-up and a spot in the Three Lions squad for the European Championships. His success has caught the attention of top clubs, including Arsenal.
While Liverpool also showed interest in the former Everton player, they opted for Federico Chiesa instead. Arsenal has yet to make a concrete offer but continues to monitor Gordon’s situation.
To secure their prized asset, Newcastle plans to make Gordon the highest earner at the club with an annual offer of £9 million. Negotiations have reportedly already begun, and the club hopes to finalize the deal before the next summer transfer window.
