Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has taken to social media after his side defeated Brentford 1-0 in Saturday’s Premier League clash at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Gunners secured all three points in dramatic fashion, with substitute Kai Havertz netting the winner.
Havertz made an intelligent run to the back box, with right-winger Bukayo Saka delivering a pin-point cross to the German playmaker, who headed home to send the visiting supporters into pandemonium.
But it could have been very different for Mikel Arteta’s side if not for Declan Rice, who cleared a Bryan Mbeumo shot off the line in the first half, sparing Ramsdale’s blushes after the young shot-stopper had given the ball away in his own box.
But the English shot-stopper was able to recover and register a clean sheet upon his return to the starting line-up, with David Raya unable to play due to Premier League rules on players playing against their parent clubs when on loan.
Now, Ramsdale has taken to Instagram to show his relief, writing: “A feeling I never take for granted (Football emoji) (Heart emoji)”.
“Love being part of this club. Fans were next level last night looking out for me.Thank you (Heart emoji).”
The 25-year-old will hope that he can keep his place on Wednesday when the Gunners host RC Lens to the Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Champions League, with the hosts only needing a draw to secure qualification to the knockout stages.
