Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has set his sights on improving key aspects of his game as he looks to evolve into a more complete forward.
The Swedish international, who has impressed since his arrival at St James’ Park, revealed the areas he wants to focus on in order to take his performance to the next level.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Isak spoke about his ambitions to become a more versatile player, saying, “There are many great strikers out there, and I try to watch football to take different things from many players.”
He emphasized his desire to become more mobile on the pitch, while also aiming to improve his ability in the air.
“I want to be more mobile in my game, for example scoring headers. I have scored a few more this season, which is not necessarily my main strength, but I want to be a threat in every part of the game.”
Isak’s ability to score in various ways has already made him a major asset for Newcastle. During their 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, the Swedish forward opened the scoring just under 10 minutes into the match. His clinical header helped the Magpies secure a vital three points, with Joelinton adding a second later in the game to seal the victory.
Alexander Isak is determined to expand his skill set. While his ability to score from the ground has already been evident, his focus on becoming a more well-rounded forward could make him even more of a nightmare for defenders across the Premier league.
