Bayern Munich today confirmed that Alphonso Davies has suffered a cranial bruise after being caught by Jude Bellingham’s boot on Saturday in Der Klassiker.
“The 21-year-old is feeling good in the circumstances but sat out training on Sunday,” read a statement on the club’s website. It’s unclear when Davies will return to training.
Speaking to ESPN after Bayern’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund, head coach Julian Nagelsmann said: “It was a really hard foul of Jude Bellingham. We have to send him off. Matthijs de Ligt is also injured.”
Davies will not be involved in the midweek game against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League as it comes too soon for him with reports suggesting he could be out for at least a week.
