Ademola Lookman, who played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph with a stunning hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen, believes that Real Madrid will face a tough challenge. His performance helped secure Atalanta’s first major European trophy, earning them this prestigious Super Cup opportunity against the storied Spanish club.
UCL winners have a strong track record in the Super Cup, having claimed victory in 28 of the 48 editions held. In contrast, the Europa League champions or their equivalent have won the trophy 20 times.
Despite Real Madrid’s impressive history, Lookman is confident in his team’s ability to compete.
“Real Madrid are a top team, full of top players, but we’re ready,” Lookman said. “There’s never a best time to face Real Madrid. We have to focus on us as a team. They have their powers and dangers, we also have our qualities, so they will have to stop us.”
