Christopher Nkunku set to be sidelined for up to eight weeks

According to GFFN, L’Équipe reports that Christopher Nkunku could face a minimum of eight weeks out due to the knee injury he sustained during one of the team’s training ahead of the World Cup.

The Leipzig forward was forced to withdraw from the Les Blues World Cup squad after a collision with teammate Eduardo Camavinga. He is expected to undergo further medical tests in order to ascertain the length of time he would be out for.

In his unexpected absence, manager Didier Deschamps has immediately renamed Eintracht Frankfurt forward, Randal Kolo Muani as his replacement.

The french international who has been rumoured to have had a medical with Chelsea will be looking forward to recovery from injury as soon as possible and continue in the fine form he has had all season.

After the conclusion of the international break, RB Leipzig will play Bayern Munich in their next game on January 20.
