Dejan Kulusevski a major doubt ahead of North London derby with injury

Kulusevski injury
Dejan Kulusevski has picked up a muscle injury during the international break and is set to miss the North London Derby.

Kulusevski played 90 minutes in Sweden’s 1 – 1 draw with Slovenia but returned to London with an injury scare.

Upon his return to London, he 22-year-old winger has had a scan on his hamstring and is now a doubt for this weekend’s crunch encounter.

Antonio Conte is expected to give an update in his press conference on Thursday.

The Sweden international has scored one goal and added three assists in the league this season. If he is confirmed absent, Conte will have to play in-form Richarlison who scored for Brazil during the international break.

Kulusevski recently compared his time at Tottenham to Juventus as he continues his 18-month long loan.

“Honestly, the difference between the two is huge,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Their ideas are completely different. In London you work more in the gym and the results are visible.

“From Juve to Spurs my world has changed.”

He continued: “Mentally, I always went on the pitch to give my best. At Juve, however, it didn’t work despite my commitment.

“For sure, at Juventus I didn’t feel very good for various reasons and when you realise that things are not going well, then it is difficult to reverse it while still in the same environment.

“So the choice to leave Italy was the best I could have made in that situation.”

Tottenham go into the weekend third on the Premier League table, just one point behind leaders Arsenal.
