Endrick reacts to first Real Madrid goal after setting historic club record

Endrick couldn't contain his happiness after scoring on his official Real Madrid debut as he became the youngest foreign player to net for the club in La Liga.

The teenage Brazilian is one of the most exciting young players in world football and completed his move to the Bernabeu earlier this summer. He made his debut in Spain’s top flight on Sunday and made the most of his opportunity, wrapping up the scoring with the last goal in a 3-0 triumph over Real Valladolid.

At only 18 years and 35 days, Endrick is now Madrid‘s youngest foreign scorer in La Liga, surpassing the previous record of 18 years and 152 days held by former Blancos defender Raphael Varane.

Reacting to his goal and the victory, he told reporters:

“I think we’re all happy. We played here with our families watching us. We won 3-0, with my family here and they know how hard I’ve worked and suffered. They’ve suffered too. People criticised me and my family, my girlfriend. We’ve all been through a lot and to be living this moment is wonderful.

“I’m very happy, it’s a dream that’s coming true. I’d already played here at the Bernabeu with the Brazilian national team, I was able to score a goal but it wasn’t with Real Madrid. Today was my debut with Real Madrid, I’m speechless, I can only thank God for everything that’s happened to me. I’ve always tried to win for the people of Brazil but now also for the people of Spain and I always want to put on a show for them so they can enjoy it.”

Endrick is expected to play a bench role for most of the 2024/25 season due to the presence of Madrid stars like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo as well as summer signing Kylian Mbappe but he admitted he has put full trust in manager Carlo Ancelotti over his game time.

He added: “I am very happy to be with these players, who I only saw in video games, it is very important for me. The first thing I told Ancelotti when I spoke to him is that I offer talent and work, I have continued working and doing what God placed in my life. I will fail but I will also succeed, I am very happy, very pleased to be here.”

“Players like Bellingham, Vini, Rodrygo, we are going to be here for a long time and I am going to be here working and waiting for my moment, I trust the coach a lot and I am going to wait.”
