Ghana Premier League club Bechem United have completed the signing of former Manchester City midfielder Mohammed Aminu, according to 3news.com.
The 24-year-old, who once trained under some of the best youth coaches in Europe, is expected to add creativity, vision, and energy to Bechem’s midfield as they gear up for the 2025/26 league campaign.
Mohammed Aminu – A Career of High Expectations
Aminu’s football journey began with promise. He was first spotted at the 2017 Al Kass Tournament, representing Red Bull Salzburg feeder club WAFA, where he attracted interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Later that year, Manchester City secured his signature in a £2 million deal.
During his time in Europe:
He scored three goals in four games for WAFA, earning the Ghana Premier League Player of the Month award in April 2018. In October 2020, he joined Belgian side Lommel S.K. on loan. He represented Ghana U-17, making three appearances in 2017.
However, despite his early potential, Aminu failed to establish himself consistently at City, leading the club to release him in 2022.
Boost for Bechem United
Bechem United view Aminu’s return to Ghana as a major coup, believing his European experience can elevate their midfield and push them toward domestic glory.
The talented playmaker will now look to revive his career in the Ghana Premier League and prove he can still deliver on the promise that once attracted Europe’s elite clubs.
