Hungary vs Italy – Match Preview

Hungary vs Italy
Both Hungary and Italy have a chance to qualify for the finals of the UEFA Nations League, however only one team can qualify.

The match on Monday night promises to be a cracker between the two teams who have ended the hopes of European heavyweights Germany and England moving to the next round.

Hungary will need to avoid avoid defeat in this match, while their opponents will require an away win to progress to the finals. Hungary’s Italian-born manager will be wary of Italy, who are the only team to defeat his side so far in this season’s UEFA Nations League campaign.

The Italians are on the back of 1 – 0 win over England, thanks to a Giacomo Raspadori 68th minute strike. They will be hoping to reach the finals as some sort of consolation for missing out on the World Cup for a second consecutive edition.

Hungary vs Italy – Team News

Hungary will be without first-choice striker Roland Sallai – who misses out through injury. In addition to this, the absence of Zsolt Nagy means Milos Kerkez will start on the left.

Italy on the other hand are expected to proceed with the 3 – 5 – 2 formation. However, they will still be without Marco Verratti, Sandro Tonali, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Napoli winger Matteo Politano who pulled out from the squad through injury.
