Earlier in September, there were several reports of an interest in the Portuguese star Joao Cancelo over a move to a top club, most notably is the interest of Real Madrid.
The Los Blancos outfit has long shown interest in the Manchester City full-back as either a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal or a replacement for Ferland Mendy who seems to be making a huge request on the terms of his new deal.
Although the media has made several rounds and gossips about his appealing stance to the Laliga giants, the fullback has openly spoken about his intentions in an interview with City Magazine:
“I needed a period to adapt, but now I am much more integrated here. And I hope to stay many more years at Manchester City because this is where I feel good”, he said.
Cancelo’s current contract is valid with the Premier League side until June 2027 and Real Madrid are very unlikely to pay his €65m market valuation.
