The Kano State House of Assembly has directed the investigation into Kano Pillars FC’s relegation from the Nigerian Professional Football League by its standing sports committee (NPFL), according to The Guardian.
This came after Alhaji Nurudeen Alhassan (APC-Rano) won a motion of public concern during Monday’s session in Kano.
Alhassan, who is the chairman of the House Standing Committee, introduced the resolution and emphasized how important sports are to young people’s growth.
He thinks that the Kano Pillars’ relegation from the NPFL is a sad development that has to be thoroughly studied in order to stop it from happening again.
The motion was unanimously approved by the house, and the standing committee on sports was tasked with conducting an investigation and submitting a report for further legislative action within two weeks.
