Leeds refuse to budge on Raphinha 70m release clause

Raphinha is said to have turned down Leeds’ newest contract offer, despite the fact that the new deal is worth twice as much as his current salary. Raphinha is generating interest from all around Europe, and Leeds are desperate to tie him down to a new contract.

Leeds United have moved clear of the relegation zone thanks to back-to-back victories over Norwich and Wolves, putting them in a stronger negotiation position. Raphinha, on the other hand, appears to be aiming for a big-money move to a European team in the near future.

Raphinha appears to have accepted that he will leave Leeds at some point, but the club wants to be paid what they believe the Brazilian is worth in today’s market. Leeds want to include a £70 million release clause in Raphinha’s contract, according to Brasil UOL.

Raphinha is allegedly unhappy with the figure, believing it will restrict him from joining a club. Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona are among the clubs said to have conducted “”concrete surveys”” on a possible summer transfer.

Raphinha has nine goals and three assists in 26 Premier League appearances so far this season. However, in his last 11 league outings, the 25-year-old has only scored once. Jesse Marsch expressed optimism last week that he would be able to get the most out of Raphinha in the future.

“”Raphinha is clearly a special player,”” Marsch said. “”I like his talent and I have had a lot of success working with young talented attacking players.

“”I’ll keep working with him to help him understand how he can fit into what we’re doing. The team is always the most important, but with every individual you have to get to know what makes them tick, how they respond to good and bad things, and get to the core of it.

“”I have had some good interaction and conversations with them.

“”His role has changed a bit in terms of tactically what I want him to do on the pitch, but he’s responded really well.

“”He’s another guy who wants it so bad. He tries everything he can but what happens with all of them is it becomes individual instead of it being the collective and how it all fits together.””
