Manchester City midfielder Rodri will almost certainly miss the remainder of the season after tests on Monday suggested he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee during Sunday’s draw with Arsenal, a source told ESPN.
The source said the Spain international is set for more tests but everything points towards an ACL injury. He is likely to undergo surgery in Barcelona.
Rodri went off in the 21st minute of Sunday’s clash after clutching his knee in what was his first start in the Premier League this season.
City scored a last-minute equaliser through John Stones to secure a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. The result keeps them at the top of the table with 13 points from the first five games.
