Premier League champions Manchester City, have confirmed the signing of Sergio Gomez on a four-year deal from Anderlecht. The 21-year-old left-back becomes City’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Erling Haaland, Kalvin Philips, and Stefan Ortega at the Etihad.

Gomez who began his career at Barcelona’s academy before leaving to join Borussia Dortmund towards the start of 2018, has revealed that growing up he supported Manchester City, thanks to his brother.
“I was a City fan when I was a kid” Gomez added, proudly showing a picture of himself in a City shirt as proof.
“When we were kids, my brother used to support City. He’s the main reason I became a fan as well.”
“Once he was on a school trip to London and I asked him to bring a David Silva shirt. At that time, he was wearing the No 21 shirt and he was my favourite player because I used to play in his position when I was a kid. I feel very proud that I can wear his number like Ferran Torres did here.”
After joining Dortmund, the Spaniard was subsequently was loaned out for a couple of seasons to Huesca before joining former City skipper Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht.
Sergio Gomez joins after two games played and is ready to embark on his premier league journey with Pep Guardiola’s side.
