The Reds have had a torrid start to the season and have struggled for points especially in the league. However, they have fared better on the European stage, winning four of their five group matches so far. They will be wary of their opponents, who handed them their only loss in the reverse fixture on Matchday one – which was a resounding 4 – 1 defeat.
On the other hand, Napoli are flying high with their latest 4 – 0 win over Sassuolo sealing their 13th consecutive win in all competitions. The match against Liverpool poses a different threat with the Reds historically comfortable playing in front of their home fans. With 20 goals scored in the group stage, Napoli are the team with the most goals scored so far in the Champions League. They will look to add to this number when they play the Merseysiders.
