Arsenal youth prospect Marcelo Flores is set to be named in Arsenal’s matchday squad to face Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The Gunners travel to Selhurst Park as they continue their quest for Champions League football.
The Canadian-born midfielder has been involved in first team training before, but this is the first time he will be involved in a travelling matchday squad.
Flores’ father Ruben revealed on Twitter that his son has been called up to the Arsenal team for the first time.
Flores joins the likes of Omari Hutchinson, Zach Awe, and Zak Swanson in the list of youngsters to be named in the squad as they look to replicate the feet of Bukayo Saka and Emile-Smith Rowe who rose up the ranks to become important squad members.
Flores was born in Canada, but represents Mexico at international level.
The teenager already has a senior appearance for Mexico, featuring in a match against Chile back in December.
Flores primarily plays as a No.10 and is technically gifted.
He has nine goals and three assists in 19 matches for the U-18s and in PL 2 games this season.
