Monaco’s Harrison Marcelin set to return for a second loan spell at Cercle Brugge

According to L’Équipe, Monaco defender Harrison Marcelin will return to Cercle Brugge for the upcoming season after already spending the 2020–21 season there on loan.

The Auxerre youth product, who joined Monaco in 2020, has struggled to break into the first team squad due to a hamstring problem. He made only a few appearances for the reserve squad during the previous season.

His former club, Auxerre who have been promoted back into Ligue 1 this season, were also interested in bringing him back on loan, but the 22-year-old has decided to go back to the “green and black club” of the Jupiler Pro League as he continues his recovery.

In his first spell with Cercle Brugge, he made 22 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with two goals. The centre-back also has 25 professional appearances with Auxerre under his belt – mostly in Ligue 2 – but has yet to appear for Monaco’s senior team.
