Jorge Mendes is rumoured to have held transfer talks with Newcastle United over the prospect of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to St. James Park amidst reports that Manchester United are willing to let him go following the interview with Piers Morgan.
The Saudi-led consortium club has taken a quick reaction to request for the services of the Manchester United forward after it seems likely that Manager Ten Haag may not be needing the services of the Portuguese anymore.
It also follows that a huge section of the United supporters no longer idolises the veteran striker after the heavy criticism against the club and Erik ten Haag.
According to The Mail, agent Mendes is already trying to ignite talks with other clubs in a bid to find the forward a new challenge at the height of European football.
The report indicates that Mendes and Newcastle had talks as late as last month, but it is unknown whether that is genuine or whether the Magpies would be interested in signing CR7.
Mendes had offered Ronaldo to the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sporting in the summer but no club seemed interested.
