NFF unveils new coach: Salary, Name and Designation of foreign assistants to new Super Eagles coach Finidi George

The Nigeria Football Federation, on Monday, unveiled former Ajax star Finidi George as the new coach of the Super Eagles.

The new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Finidi George was unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) earlier today in Abuja according to reports by OwnGoalNigeria.

The coach has been given a one-year deal with a mandate to ensure that the team qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with his first task in line with his objectives set to begin in June against South Africa in Uyo before facing Benin Republic four days later.

Finidi was appointed two weeks ago, but the NFF did not reveal the deatails of the deal signed. He, however, officially signed his contract at the event where NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, and the Sports minister John Enoh unveiled him as the new Eagles boss.

The report also discloses that the Super Eagles coach has now left his position as coach of Enyimba Fc permanently to focus on his new role as coach of the Super Eagles.

He is set to earn around the same deal former coach Jose Peseiro earned which is to be around $45,000, while his assistants wull likely earn on a pay-per-game agreement based on the agreement within his deal. 

Assistants Reveal

A report on the OwnGoalNigeria website reveals the names and profile for these assistants;

Benjamin James is a Nigeria-born who has spent a better part of his life in Germany, and having played for NPFL side Shooting Stars before making his move abroad.

Before his appointment, he worked as development coach for Gerrman club Hoffenheim. He is expected to be in Nigeria next week alongside fellow Nigerian and newly appointed assistant Chima Onyeike.

Onyeike is of Nigerian decent but was born and raised in Netherlands, where he had a very short playing career before venturing into becoming a fitness trainer.

He is presently unemployed but had stints working in Russia with Anzhi, Greek side PAOK, German side VFB Stuttgart and his last place of employment was Dutch sude Willem II.

Another name on the list is Mehmet Ozturk who will join the team as a match analyst, with the duo of Daniel Amokachi and Abideen Baruwa completing the list of his assistants.
