Manchester United academy graduate Shola Shoretire has signed a four-year contract with Greek Super League champions PAOK Thessaloniki.
Shoretire departed Old Trafford as a free agent after his contract expired last month and has chosen PAOK as the next step in his career.
The highly-rated attacking midfielder, who has represented England at youth level, will link up with Super Eagles skipper William Troost-Ekong at the Super League side.
Shoretire will wear the number 47 shirt for his new club, a number he also donned during his final game for the Red Devils.
Shoretire: History maker who flamed out
The Newcastle-born forward made his debut when he was just 17 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a two-minute cameo against Newcastle in the Premier League.
During his time at the club, Shoretire made only five senior appearances for the Red Devils, but he managed to leave a lasting mark on the club’s history by becoming the youngest player to debut for Manchester United in European competition. He set this record during a UEFA Europa League match against Real Sociedad in 2021.
The 20-year-old primarily played with the youth team during his time at Old Trafford and was honored with the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award for the 2020/2021 season.
PAOK will be hoping he can fulfill his potential in Greece and become a key player for the club.
Born in England to a Nigerian father, Shoretire is still eligible to represent both countries at international level, and indeed teaming up with Troost-Ekong may well lead him to consider donning the colours of the Super Eagles.
