According to Mundo Deportivo, the future of Renan Lodi remains uncertain as we enter the final week of the summer transfer market. Nottingham Forest are keen to sign the Atlético Madrid left-back and continue their €150m close-season spending spree.
Initially, Newcastle was expected to make an offer for the Atlético Madrid’s leftback. Now, there are reports coming from inside Italy that Juventus is looking to hijack the deal with an aim to strengthen their squad.
Forest attempted to negotiate a price with Real Betis for Alex Moreno earlier in the transfer window, but they were unsuccessful; the left-back will remain at the Benito Villamarin this season. In lieu of the failed attempt, the newly promoted Premier League team have turned their attention to Atletico’s €40m-rated Brazilian defender. Forest don’t want to pay that kind of cash so their proposal is to take him on loan with an option to buy.
It is expected Forest would pay a loan fee around €5m for the defender and it’s thought that Atlético is ready to accept the proposal. Renan Lodi has fallen down the Civitas Metropolitano’s pecking order as Yannick Carrasco, Saul Niguez, and Reinildo Mandava have all been chosen ahead of him so far this season.
