Osimhen axed from Napoli’s full training and friendly games by Conte

Napoli manager Antonio Conte left striker Victor Osimhen out of his side for the pre-season friendly against Albanian side KF Egnatia on Sunday evening.

The planned exit of Victor Osimhen from Italian Serie A side Napoli is one of the major headaches of the new coach of the team Antonio Conte as the team step up preparations for the start of a new season, according to reports.

Osimhen is expected to depart before the close of the summer transfer window with PSG rumoured to be his likely next departure, but they are not open to paying the release clause of €120m which Napoli is demanding.

Talks have slowed down due to the impasse but it is a move that is likely to happen in the coming days judging by the actions of Conte at the team’s Castel di Sangro camp.

Conte like he did when they opened their preparations at the Dimaro has included Osimhen in the final preparatory camp despite the fact that he is expected to be sold before the start of the season.

However, he has limited the Nigerian to just a bit of athletics and tactical exercises as well as personalized work in the gym. In the last few days Osimhen has not trained with the rest of the team, and even in their latest game against Egnatia, he wasn’t listed.

It means he hasn’t played a minute in all of their three pre-season games on the instruction of Conte according to calcionapoli24, a sign of the fact that his future lies outside of the club with Romelu Lukaku already handed his spot.

Lukaku is said to have agreed to a three-year deal to replace the Nigerian striker and it is expected to be made official the moment the Nigerian leaves Naples.
