Pep Guardiola confirms Haaland’s fitness ahead of Liverpool tie

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Erling Haaland is ready for the Community Shield clash against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Norwegian striker scored on his debut in an impressive cameo against Bayern Munich and could start against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Guardiola has been impressed by the striker since he joined Manchester City.

“He is ready to play tomorrow, and my first impression is he is a guy who is really good,” said Guardiola.

“He is a funny guy, and he has settled in really well.

“Good vibes in the locker room are important – more than anything you can say.

“We try to help his family, get apartment, see what we want to do in training – the rest is his quality.”

Despite suffering minor injury issues in pre-season, Guardiola has confirmed that the 6’4″ striker is ready for the match.

“He feels good,” said the boss.

“I spoke with him in the last few days, and he can train, and he can move.

“At the end of August, we will know better than now.
