PSG eye swooping deal for N’golo Kante next summer

Ngolo Kante

Kante has become a very common name been spoken of with links to the Parisien side in the past few years, yet there have been no contract terms or deals discussed between the French club and his entourage.

The French and Chelsea midfielder, is now in the final 12 months of his contract with the London club, having turned down an offer to extend his contract with the Blues earlier this year. And now again, there are reports of him being linked with a move away to Paris Saint-Germain.

It is obvious that he has been an excellent addition for the Premier League club since completing his £32m transfer from Leicester in 2016, but has struggled with several injuries in the past year or two. And Chelsea, unsurprisingly are not willing to give into Kante’s demands given his lack of availability on the field of play.

The 31-year-old reportedly wants a three-year extension with the option for a further year, which would be identical to the terms by 31-year-old Kalidou Koulibaly who joined the club this summer from Napoli.

Kante played the full match against Everton on the opening weekend of the season before lasting only 85 minutes against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

The France midfielder is expected to rejoin Graham Potter’s squad following the international break this month. How long he can keep fit is the main contending issue.

Despite his injury problems, there is likely to be a decent level of interest in Kante should he be available for nothing in 2023.

According to 90min, representatives from PSG have “reached out” to the former Leicester man with two unnamed Premier League sides also reportedly interested in the Chelsea midfielder.
