The Red side of Milan came from a goal down to secure an impressive 3 – 2 win over neighbours Inter Milan. Rafael Leao scored twice as the defending champions earned all three points in their fifth match of the Seria A season.
In typical derby fashion, Denzel Dumfries and Theo Hernandez were booked after just nine minutes after a heated argument following a collision.
Thereafter, Inter Milan took the lead through Marcelo Brozovic in the 21st minute following a devastating counterattack led by Lautaro Martinez.
Rafael Leao then equalized for AC Milan seven minutes later after collecting a pass from Sandro Tonali.
Ten minutes into the second half, Olivier Giroud caught Samir Handanovic off guard to give Milan the lead.
Leao then ensured his name reappeared on the scoresheet just after the hour mark but they were made to endure a nervy finish after Dzeko pulled one back for the away side.
