The Super Falcons secured a 2-0 win over Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in a warm-up friendly in Abeokuta today with a brace from Atletico Madrid Forward, Rasheedat Ajibade.
Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade led the charge, netting both goals in a commanding first-half performance. The win sets a confident tone ahead of the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco.
Ajibade struck first from the penalty spot in the 28th minute. She added a second just before halftime, finishing a swift counterattack assisted by Rinsola Babajide.
Despite late pressure from Cameroon, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie preserved Nigeria’s clean sheet with a vital stoppage-time save.
The result boosts Nigeria’s momentum as they chase another continental title. Cameroon, meanwhile, miss out on the upcoming WAFCON, failing to qualify in recent match results.
Nigeria remains one of the top-ranked teams in African football, and Rasheedat Ajibade ’s performance strengthens her claim among WAFCON’s potential top scorers.
