Kparobo Arierhi - 3 goals in 4 matches at WAFU B U20 Tournament

Kparobo Arierhi: A Young Football Sensation

At only 17, striker Kparobo Arierhi is making waves in international football. Recently, he showcased his talent by scoring two incredible goals in Lome, Togo, leading the Flying Eagles to a 2-1 victory over their rivals, Ghana. This win helped Nigeria retain the WAFU B U20 Championship, a title they last won two years ago in Niamey.

A Game-Changing Performance By Kparobo

Kparobo’s goals were a testament to his skills as a top-notch finisher. After the match, he said,

“I have been exposed by my academy and that is why I gave this type of performance.”

His coach, Aliyu Zubairu, highlighted the doubts some had about Kparobo’s youth and size, stating,

“They said he is too young, too small, but you can see the result of our conviction now.”

Promising Future Ahead

A top official from the Flying Eagles expressed confidence in Kparobo’s potential, saying, “He is a top talent who will continue to do amazing things.” With invaluable experience gained in Togo, they believe he and fellow young players like Bidemi Amole and Divine Oliseh will be even stronger by the time the U20 AFCON comes around.

Tournament Highlights

In the WAFU tournament, Kparobo scored three goals in four matches, helping Nigeria secure a spot in the upcoming 2025 U20 AFCON set to take place in South Africa in January. Despite battling blisters, he was a key player in the team’s formation, often leading the attack in coach Zubairu’s preferred 4-3-3 setup, even outshining older players like Charles Agada, who recently signed with QPR.

A Track Record of Success

Kparobo’s rise to prominence has been impressive. He was the top scorer in the TCC League, netting 22 goals in just 15 matches last season. He also made headlines by scoring five goals during the Viareggio Tournament in Italy, where his team made history as the first Nigerian club to win the prestigious event. Additionally, he scored four goals at the Gothia Cup in Sweden this July.

Skills and Style

Known for his excellent close control and technical skills, Kparobo compensates for his lack of raw power with sharp positioning and football intelligence. He’s yet another promising young talent from Nigeria, ready to score more goals and make a mark in the football world.
