Rodrygo Goes rejoins training, gives Carlo Ancelotti more options

According to reports from Spanish outlet Managing Madrid, Rodrygo Goes has rejoined Real Madrid’s squad in Tuesday’s training session.

Toni Kroos is still sidelined with the virus, but Rodrygo Goes has returned to Real Madrid’s team, Rodrygo will be ready when Los Blancos go to Espanyol on Sunday after overcoming the muscular tiredness that prevented him from participating in the team’s opening two LaLiga matches against Almeria and Celta de Vigo.

Kroos would also be given time to recover from his symptoms, so it’s likely that coach Carlo Ancelotti deploys the 4-3-3 formation for the first time this season. The Italian coach had hinted at that possibility during his last press conference, saying that the 4-3-3 formation will be back when Rodrygo is available.

Real Madrid has relied too heavily on both Vinicius and Benzema during the first two games, but Rodrygo’s return could boost the team’s attacking output. This season, Rodrygo is expected to make a leap, therefore he will require time and playing experience to develop some confidence in that capacity.
