The two other teams to be relegated from the NPFL will now only be decided on the final day of the season with as many as five clubs including Sporting Lagos all in danger of going down to the lower league.
Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Akwa United, Bayelsa United and Sunshine Stars therefore have everything to play for on the final day of action in the Nigerian top flight.

Sporting Lagos won at home to high flying side; Enyimba F.C which took them temporarily away from the relegation place. Bayelsa United though came from a goal down against Shooting Stars (Oluyole Boys) to send the ‘Noisy Lagosians’ down into the danger zone again.

Abia Warriors have secured their status in the NPFL on the back of a 2-0 home win over fellow strugglers Akwa United, who have now dropped to 16th in the standings with 46 points from 37 matches and a 0 goals difference.
Bayelsa United are 15th on 47 points, Sunshine Stars 14th with 49 points as both teams will be on the road on the final day.
Bottom team Gombe United and Heartland have already been demoted to the second-tier NNL.
