Spurs, Chelsea, and Newcastle kick-off new season high

Bournemouth, Newcastle, Leeds, and Tottenham all registered home wins in their opening match of the season, but a depleted Everton side suffered a narrow home defeat to Chelsea.

AFC Bournemouth defeated Aston Villa 2-0 in their first match of the season. The newly promoted side needed only two minutes to score their first goal of the campaign through Jefferson Lerma before the impressive Kieffer Moore added a second late on.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest’s return to the top division after 23 years started on a sour note as they suffered a 2 – 0 loss away at St. James’ Park. Fabian Schar registered an early goal of the season contender before Wilson put the result beyond doubt with a sublime finish.

Leeds United came from behind to defeat Wolves at Elland road thanks to Rodrigo’s finish and a Rayan Ait-Nouri own goal.

Tottenham Hotspur started their new campaign with an impressive 4-1 win over Southampton. Dejan Kulusevski was the star of the show, registering a goal and an assist as they came from behind to get their first three points of the season.

In the final game on Saturday, a first-half penalty from Jorginho was all Thomas Tuchel’s side needed to take all three points.
