Peseiro confirmed the end of his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
In a statement, Peseiro expressed pride in coaching the Super Eagles, highlighting the dedication, sacrifice, and enthusiasm poured into the role over the past 22 months.
Despite reaching the Cup of Nations final for the first time since 2013, Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat against hosts Ivory Coast in Abidjan on February 11th, squandering a 1-0 lead.
The experienced coach, who has previously managed teams like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, concludes his tenure with Nigeria after a brief yet eventful stint.
