The future of out-of-favoured Nigeria international midfielder Kelechi Nwakali at relegated Portuguese side, Chavez is in doubt following his act of indiscipline in the game where their relegation to the second division was confirmed, according to a source.
The Nigerian midfielder was subbed off at halftime in their 1-0 loss to Famalicao, a result which condemned them to relegation from the Premier Liga. He was seen using his phone on the substitute bench and it has drawn attention to the hierarchy at his club.
In their game against Sporting Lisbon which they lost 0-3, the 25-year-old wasn’t listed in the matchday squad for the first time this season, and according to reports, it has something to do with a disciplinary measure from the club.
Rumours have it he has been banished from the first team until a decision is concluded upon his indisciplinary act.
His contract at the club is set to end next summer, since his transfer from Spanish side Ponferradina two years ago.
