The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on world champions, Argentina in Los Angeles, United States of America, next month in a friendly at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as confirmed by Guardian.ng.
The friendly was hanging in the balance after Chinese authorities refused to sanction that it be played in their country following an uproar involving star attraction Lionel Messi.
The uproar was caused in the wake of the iconic eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s failure to feature for Inter Miami in a friendly game against Hong Kong select XI.
Messi has since defended himself against these allegations, insisting he holds China in very high esteem.
As first reported on BALLGIST, the friendly was originally proposed to be staged in Japan, before it was moved to China. However, now a new venue has been communicated as well as date.
Next month’s game will be the fourth time the Super Eagles will face Argentina in an international friendly tie.
