The newly appointed coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has given fans of the team what to expect when he leads the team out in the World Cup Qualifiers in March.
Chelle, who was on Monday, unveiled as the new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria in a ceremony in Abuja by the Nigeria Football Federation, is tasked with leading the Super Eagles to next year‘s World Cup.
Speaking on his appointment as the coach, Chelle thanked the NFF and the National Sports Commission (NSC) under Shehu Dikko for the opportunity before explaining how the team will play under his guide.
“I want to thank my agent, the NFF, the NSC and indeed all Nigerians for this big opportunity. Coaching the Super Eagles of Nigeria is an amazing job; I do not take this appointment for granted. I am elated and will do my utmost best,” the coach said.
“Football is about scoring goals, so I favour an attacking style. I know the expectations of Nigerians, and I will settle down and work diligently with assistants towards the goal of qualifying the Super Eagles to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
