Top three FPL assets from top six Premier League teams

The 2022/23 English Premier League season begins on Friday, August 5th by 8 pm UK time with a clash between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. However, 90 minutes before the first ball is kicked, there would have been the first deadline of the most popular fantasy game in the world – Fantasy Premier League. Played by over 9 million managers worldwide last season, the game is predicted to surpass the 10 million mark by the end of the 2022/23 season.

Ahead of the new season, Ballgist FPL scout identifies the top three assets from last season’s top six teams based on their FPL performance in past seasons and their pre-season form.

Manchester City: The winners of three out of the last four EPL seasons start the season with a good combination of fixtures. You just have to be ready to play the Pep roulette. The top three FPL assets from Manchester City are:

1. Kevin De Bruyne (12m, mid)

2. Joao Cancelo (7m, def)

3. Erling Haaland (11.5 fwd)

Liverpool: Liverpool have proven to be the best team to consider for FPL over the last 3 – 4 seasons and the new season begins on a good note for them, with the second easiest set of fixtures to start the season. They also have some of the most interesting assets in the game and the scout thinks that you should start your GW1 with at least two of these:

1. Mohammed Salah (13m, mid)

2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.5m, def)

3. Andy Robertson (7.0m, def)

Chelsea: Chelsea finished third last season, and a number of FPL managers benefited from the wing-backs especially. Ahead of the new season, here are the top three Chelsea assets for FPL:

1. Reece James (6.0m, def)
