Top three captain picks for GW12 FPL

The value of captaincy in the Fantasy Premier League cannot be overstated. Why not? It’s the most significant factor in determining whether you have a successful or bad gameweek. We’ve identified the top three captain options to consider ahead of GW12 in your quest for FPL dominance.

• Mohammed Salah (13.0m) versus Arsenal (H):

This week, the Egyptian King meets one of his favorite opponents, and he’ll be hoping to add to his 117 FPL points in just 11 games.

Salah has scored seven goals and supplied four assists in nine meetings against Arsenal. Despite Arsenal’s recent good record, which has seen them climb to fifth place, just two points behind their opponents, Arteta and his team may find the journey to Anfield too much.

Salah is a safe captain pick for GW12, and he’ll likely be the most capped player for another week.

• Cristiano Ronaldo (12.4m) vs Watford (A): Despite the Red Devils’ recent troubles, there are few better chances for redemption than a trip to relegation-threatened Watford. Ronaldo has a chance to score against Watford and improve on his recent poor FPL record, which has seen him blank in five of his previous six matches.

Prior to his move to Spain and later Italy, Ronaldo faced Watford three times, scoring twice and providing an assist each time.

• Son Heung-Min (10.3m) vs Leeds (H): This season, the South Korean has been his team’s finest performer, and Antonio Conte’s arrival promises to increase his productivity even more. Son scored twice and assisted once in two league meetings against Leeds last season. On Sunday, he’ll be trying to add to his score as Spurs look for their first Premier League title under their new manager. This week’s Captaining Son is high-risk/high-reward, so only do it if you’re feeling lucky.
