Tottenham Hotspur makes history with win over Everton

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur side have now made history following their 2-0 victory over Everton yesterday at home.

Harry Kane’s penalty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s late goal gave Spurs a 2-0 victory in London, reducing the point gap between them and league leaders Arsenal to one point.

In the second half of the match, The Lillywhites ensured their visitors failed to get a single shot on target.

The victory means that Spurs have now picked up the most points at this point of the campaign in their Premier League history and it is also their highest points tally at this point of the season since the 1963/64 season.

OptaJoe reports that Tottenham have now won 23 points from their 10 Premier League games this season, it is their highest tally at this stage of the competition since 1963/64 campaign.

Conte’s Spurs recently beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in London to come close to sealing a spot in the next round of the Champions League. In the Premier League, League leaders Arsenal have a game in hand and are currently one point clear of both Man City and Spurs.
