Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly made an offer to take over FC Nantes, according to French media.

The Liverpool defender, 25, has attracted attention from Real Madrid as his contract approaches expiration next year, leading to speculation about his future.

Recent reports from L’Équipe reveal that Alexander-Arnold and his father, Michael, engaged in discussions with Nantes’ management remotely over the summer before meeting in person. The proposal, presented through a London investment firm managed by his father, stands at €100 million (£84 million)—€80 million upfront, followed by €20 million later, plus potential bonuses of €40 million.

A third meeting took place in London, where Nantes owner Waldemar Kita expressed frustration over the financial offer, which he deemed insufficient. Kita has since denied the reports regarding Alexander-Arnold’s interest, reportedly furious over the leaked information.

Before focusing on Nantes, Alexander-Arnold considered bids for AS Saint-Étienne and Le Havre. Despite these takeover talks, uncertainty surrounds his future at Liverpool, especially with interest from Real Madrid.

New head coach Arne Slot has acknowledged that Alexander-Arnold, along with key players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, is in the final year of his contract, although he remains relaxed about the situation with no new agreements on the horizon.
