Real Madrid have confirmed that both Luka Modric and Federico Valverde will be sidelined next to Benzema to miss the Champions League match against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
The duo has been excluded from the squad list to face Leipzig on Tuesday night and will now be working on their return to field action with Valverde expected to be back on Sunday against Girona.
Modric came in as a late decision ahead of the game according to the statement made on the club’s website. He was already named in the manager’s squad but a last-minute withdrawal meant he won’t be going to Germany.
Considering the talent-studded squad the Laliga giants boast of, they are expected to see out at least a draw against the German side, as that would be enough to guarantee their qualification into the knockout stages of the competition.
Victory over their opponents would ensure Real Madrid finish top of Group F ahead of Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic.
