Aiming to progress to the playoffs for the first time, Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark will secure top spot with a win against defending world champions France should Croatia fail to beat Austria.
France will look to stave off relegation from League A tonight as they travel to Denmark for the final Nations League game, in what will also be their final fixture for both sides before the World Cup in just under two months’ time.
In spite of losing their chance to retain their championship in this Nations League edition, France did at least escape the embarrassment of being demoted to League B prior to this fixture by defeating Austria (2-0). The Les Bleus’ future in League A is still in doubt, though, since if Austria defeats Croatia and Les Bleus fails to respond with a victory of their own, they will be demoted.
Their opponents go into the game having lost top spot in the group to Croatia in midweek and now need a result against the World Champions to keep their final four hopes alive.
