Galatasaray will begin their Turkish Super Lig title defence tonight without record signing Victor Osimhen.
The reigning champions face Gaziantep FK away, with kick-off set for 7:30 PM local time, but Osimhen is absent from the matchday squad. The Nigerian striker has resumed full team training but is still not deemed ready for competitive action.
The 25-year-old also missed Galatasaray’s final pre-season fixture, a 2-2 draw against Lazio, as the club take a cautious approach to his integration.
Galatasaray are chasing a fourth consecutive league title, having lost only once last season — a defeat to Besiktas, en route to their third straight championship.
Osimhen’s absence means Galatasaray will rely on alternative attacking options as they look to make a winning start in their bid for another Super Lig crown.
