Sevilla are rebuilding for the new La Liga season after a disappointing 2023/2024 campaign and believe free agent Kelechi Iheanacho could be very much part of this revival.
The record winners of the UEFA Europa League finished a disappointing 14th last season.
They hope the experience and goals of Iheanacho in Europe will make up for the departure of Morocco World Cup star Youssef En-Neysri, who has left for Turkish giants Fenerbache, and Rafa Mir, who has signed this summer for Valencia.
‘Senior Man’ Iheanacho, 27, has netted 61 goals and provided 34 assists in 232 appearances for Leicester City before his contract ran out this summer.
He has also scored 15 goals in 55 appearances for the Super Eagles.
Iheanacho is due in Spain this week to conclude a transfer after a verbal agreement was reached between Sevilla and his representatives.
Fellow Super Eagles Chidera Ejuke has already joined Sevilla also on a free transfer after his contract with Russian club CSKA Moscow ran out.
