Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed the reasons behind his decision to join Turkish giants Besiktas ahead of several other suitors.

The former Leicester City star has signed a three-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year. Speaking to Besiktas TV, Ndidi expressed excitement about his new chapter.

“Beşiktaş are one of the biggest teams in the country. I wanted to be here because I want to see a new environment, meet new people, and play in a new league. When I received the offer, I was really impressed and wanted to come here,” Ndidi said.

Aiming for Silverware

The 27-year-old says his top priority is to help Besiktas win trophies, especially with the club also strengthening their squad by signing striker Tammy Abraham.

“My biggest goal at Beşiktaş is to win as many matches as possible. These victories will bring us trophies and take us to the next level,” he declared.

A True Team Player

Ndidi emphasised his selfless approach to the game, describing himself as a “team player” above all else.

“I am a very hard-working player. I don’t play just for my personal goals; I play for the team to win. When the team wins, all the players are at their best. So, I can say that I am a team player in the truest sense,” he added.

With his experience in the Premier League and on the international stage, Ndidi is expected to play a pivotal role in Besiktas’s title challenge for the 2025/26 season.
