World’s richest man Elon Musk urged to buy Manchester United

Following their resounding 4 – 0 loss to Brentford, Manchester United have been subject to criticism from both supporters and opponents alike. This has added to their already-numerous problems and prolonged the wait for Eric Ten Hag’s first Premier League victory. The loss to Brentford is their second consecutive to begin the season, and the fans are growing impatient.

Several prominent individuals – including well-known businessman Elon Musk, have been in the news recently regarding a change of ownership at the club.

Elon Musk sent shockwaves through social media in the early hours of Tuesday morning with a tweet that read:  “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome” on his profile. Social media users were left in disbelief at the sight of a particular response from a handle owned by Tesla Owners Club which read, “Are you serious?”

Elon Musk claims to want to buy Manchester United on his twitter feed.

Musk eventually replied, saying: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.”

“Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.” He continued.

Elon Musk admitting if he had to purchase any team, it would be Manchester United.

The world’s richest man has initially been urged by some fans in the past to purchase the club, knowing fully well his capacity in net worth which stands at about $265 billion, there is a glimpse of belief amongst these desperate fans as to whether he would splash his cash on their faltering team. However, others believe he would not want to do anything with the Glazers family who have been criticized for how poorly they run the club’s affairs.
