Bayern in trouble as they seek replacement for injured Neuer

Pressure continues to grow for Bayern Munich as they look to find a replacement for Manuel Neuer after leg injury.

The Bavarian champions are set to consider a short-term replacement for number one goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer after conceding to an injury while on holiday after Germany’s exit from the World Cup at the group stage.

Having undergone surgery, the 36-year-old will be out for the rest of the season and that leaves Bayern in a tight spot as they look to bring in PSG goalkeeper, Keylor Navas for the Reds captain as a temporary cover.

According to GFFN, Bayern initially contacted Alexander Nübel from Monaco to investigate the potential of returning the 26-year-old back from his loan term in Monaco ahead of schedule.

However, with Nübel looking unlikely to leave Monaco in the middle of the season, the Bavarians will have to look elsewhere and considering Navas is yet to play a single minute since the arrival of Galtier, he may seem likely the best backup goalkeeper to acquire. But this remains an uncertainty with the Parisiens unlikely to release the three-time Champions League winner.

The Bundesliga leaders will hope to get this deal done and sorted in January before the commencement of Champions League football.
