French winger, Ousmane Dembele has rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain and remains committed to FC Barcelona.
Dembele joined the Blaugrana as part of a €105m ($112.7m) plus €42m ($45m) in potential add-ons deal in the summer of 2017.
At the turn of 2022, he looked certain to leave Camp Nou until he peaked top-form under head coach Xavi Hernandez, leading in the top assists providers chart in Laliga.
Batting off interest from PSG and Chelsea, Dembele extended his expiring deal with the Catalans until 2024, which means that his future will again be the subject of much interest in the summer and especially 12 months from now when he will again be allowed to negotiate with rival clubs as a soon-to-be free agent.
This season, the Frenchman’s form has further improved with a return of seven goals and seven assists. The undisputed team leader in terms of setting his colleagues up, Dembele trails only teammate Robert Lewandowski, with his strike tally and has netted important goals such as that which granted Barca a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Sunday evening.
“I feel good here. I have a good life here, the coach believes in me and he puts it all together too. I am happy with my faith in myself and with my situation at the club,” Dembele was quoted speaking to Mundo Deportivo.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, there have only been “brief and informal conversations” on the matter with the issue “not being dealt with in depth”.
