According to reports, former Liverpool captain and legend, Steven Gerrard is on the verge of accepting the managerial position at Saudi club, Al-Ettifaq.
Since departing Aston Villa in October, the Englishman has been without a job but news emerged on Monday he had received an offer to take up a role with the Saudi club, with videos showing his arrival at the club.
The report has sparked excitement among football fans, who eagerly anticipate witnessing the Englishman’s renowned leadership and tactical prowess in action.
During his time at Villa, Gerrard won 13 of his 40 games at the helm, returning a win rate of 32.5%, and he’s set to lead an Al-Ettifaq team which finished in seventh place last season.
With Gerrard’s imminent appointment, the team’s fans hope that his expertise and winning mentality will propel them to greater heights in future competitions.
Gerrard’s managerial track record is remarkably notable, having guided Rangers to a Scottish Premiership title triumph in the 2020-21 season, breaking Celtic’s stronghold on the championship before managing Villa in the Premier League last season.
