Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will lead the Super Eagles in Marrakech, Morocco when they lock horns against West African neighbors, Ghana in the International friendly game set to prepare teams for the World Cup qualifiers later this year.
An unexpected turn of events in a new regime under interim coach, Finidi George would see former Bendel Insurance defender, Benjamin Tanimu make his first-ever appearance and start in the Eagle’s shirt.
The Port Harcourt-based professional also has Kelechi Iheanacho and Cyriel Dessers to lead the attack in what looks like his favoured 4-4-2 formation.
Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman, who shone at the AFCON, have been dropped to the bench and according to sources, this is done solely based on the intentions of the coach and how he has players implementing his style during games.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will keep his place in goal following his impressive performances from the AFCON, while Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka and Semi Ajayi keep their places in the starting XI.
Super Eagles Starting XI vs Ghana:
Nwabali; Onyemaechi, Tanimu, Semi Ajayi, Chidozie Awaziem; Wilfred Ndidi (captain), Frank Onyeka, Osayi, Iwobi; Iheanacho, Dessers.
